Description

Stay safe while at sea by signing up for the ASA 105 Coastal Navigation course which will provide you with the skills needed to plot courses and identify your location within coastal waters WITHOUT the use of electronic navigation systems.

A must have skill for sailors of all ages and skill levels. There are no perquisites required, however we HIGHLY recommends a basic understanding of nautical charts and experience reading a compass. The content is appropriate for power or sail.

Structure

This is a classroom only course which consists of an intensive weekend of two full 8-hour days to cover the theory and solve example practical problems. An example exam is then provided for home study.

This is reviewed on the following Saturday morning and the 3 hr. examination is then sat and reviewed on that Saturday afternoon.

Charts and books are provided in the classroom, but please bring your own parallel rule and dividers, which you wil also need for the coursework.
