Experience a new world of excitement and adventure and get your Basic Keelboat Certification with our excellent instructors. With no experience necessary, there is a lot to learn, but we guarantee results!
You will gain a solid foundation, learning the essential skills you'll need to sail a boat of up to 30ft. Our unique curriculum ensures great results with a mix of classroom lectures and plenty of on-water sailing time.
Structure:
24 hours of instruction over three consecutive days returning to base each afternoon, with each day consisting of a morning lecture, a quick lunch break, followed by a long afternoon of hands-on sailing on the water.
Typically, there are only three students per boat/instructor, but we can accommodate four if a group of friends or two couples enroll together.
The course wraps up with a 100-question multiple choice test.
We offer this as a combination liveaboard course in the US Virgin Islands.
Topics:
Boat preparation, nomenclature, knots, wind orientation, sail theory, primary sailing maneuvers, sail trim, crew positions & responsibilities, basic mooring/docking techniques, safety, basic navigation, working knowledge of marine regulations and rules, and much more.
